Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Erika. I am a corporate employee, business owner, realist, foodie, makeup lover, shoe lover and a woman.  I've involuntarily adopted the nickname "E". I like it though, so if you see me you can call me that. I'm a recent transplant to Atlanta, GA. At my age, I thought I had experienced just about everything and that I could handle anything else life would throw at me. Atlanta proved me wrong. I didn't realize I was moving into a real life episode of "Love and Hip Hop" or "Real Housewives", without the wives, of course. Here is what I've learned/witnessed/endured since living here.

  • I learned these hoes really ain't loyal
  • Good girls are not in style.
  • God is good.
  • Girls are in fact crazy.
  • I met more good men than good women.
  • Everybody has issues, some are just better at hiding them.
  • Everybody is a celebrity.
  • I'm not for everybody, just somebody.
  • Bottles girls are the new CEO's...at least in their minds.
  • Bottle girling is actually a career.
  • I have to consciously learn to not respond to everything.
  • I'm always going to be a work in progress.
  • Not everyone has to understand me.
  • I had to remind a bottle girl that she is a waitress in a leotard with a firecracker attached to a bottle. (I'm really working on my attitude)
  •  Don't throw bottles in the club if you only have one. No I didn't do this, but advice for others.
  • I realized Hookah actually relieves stress.
  • I learned Henny margaritas are devil juice.
  • I Popped bottlesssssss.
  • I learned that trap music lyrics are true.
  • I learned exactly what side chicks REALLY are.
  • I've been Instagram stalked
  • I'm tough
  • I learned to have faith, if nothing else in all of my relationships.
  • I've had an anonymous Snapchat stalker.
  • I'm lowkey poppin'.
  • I've experienced some super dope events.
  • I use the words "bitches", "hoes" and "fuck" way more frequently (I never said I was done growing, don't judge me).
  • I met a lot of influential people.
  • I  met a lot of bullshit people.
  • I never left a party with my shoes off.
  • I saw Ocho propose to Kiara at Cascade!
  • Mike can fly...or fall with style.
  • Therefore, I learned Henny margaritas are devil juice.
  • Nyah is an inspiration.
  • Dogwood festival is LITTTYYY!!
  • I always have fun with Jewel and Christal.
  • I Snatched up a "bitch"...or two.. I can't remember.
  • I laugh because People actually buy followers and likes.
  • Atlanta is toxic to relationships.
  • I've seen a lot of fake red bottoms.
  • I've exercised extreme patience.
  • I learned that the worst people try the hardest to be the nicest.
  • I found a new favorite place at Piedmont Park and the Beltine.
  • I've been missing the mountains and the beach.
  • I've gained a new appreciation for doing nothing.
  • I've also gained weight but it all went to my butt so I don't care.
  • I learned that ATL is, in fact, actually full.
  • Realized how little black people in the "Blackest City in the USA" aren't as focused on the advancement of our people if it doesn't involve bottle poppin' and VIP sections.
  • People really do "Do it for Gram"
  • I've completely lost my filter. Though, some will argue I've never had a filter in the first place.
  • I Rekindled some old friendships with my girls!
  • I saw my dad for the first time since I was 16.
  • I am looking forward to my relationship with my dad.
  • I realized that despite our difficult relationship, I miss my mom and I want to give her a better life.
  • I miss my aunt. Actually, being here with not a lot of family has shown me how important they are.
  • I've had to reach back to what Camden, NJ taught me about street smarts and implement those lessons.
  • I hate club dresses.
  • People think I'm pretty and dope...and sometimes pretty dope.
  • I'm not much of a talker.
  • I love sleep.
  • I also love money...so sleep has to wait for now.
  • My hair gets so much love.
  • I threw away my flatiron..
  • There's more to the A than clubs and ratchets.
  • The art in Atlanta is beautiful.
  • I'm less pretty, prissy and more coffee drinking, book reading, hipster.
  • I'm culturally well rounded.
  • Most people in Atlanta are not from Atlanta.
  • "Finessing" is actually a money maker.
  • I hate Atlanta traffic. It really is "that bad".
  • I should give more makeup lessons.
  • I have great eyebrows.
  • Black women show the most hair hate. They will criticize you for growing your own damn hair and not wearing someone...or something else's.
  • Shopping online is a must.

I could actually go on and on and on......and on some more. But If I did, what else would I be able to write about? Since moving here, I really realized that even I can be thrown off my game. I've gained a new found appreciation for "knowing who I am". I know why I do certain things. I know why I like certain things. I don't mind not having a lot of friends. My goal is to be as forward, blunt and honest as possible with what I write. I hope to not offend someone. I also hope that everyone can learn SOMETHING from me. I used to be so embarrassed because my mom was so opinionated...but I can proudly say I am just like her now. I always have something to say so I'll just share it here! Hope you enjoy. Talk to you soon!
